Anna Maria van Schurman (1607 - 1678), was a Dutch poet and scholar. She was born in Cologne, but early in life moved to Utrecht and died in Wierwerd. She was celebrated during her lifetime for her learning and accomplishments and she also drew etched, and engraved on glass.

She is identified by the inscription and this is confirmed by comparison with other portraits of her such as the self portrait in pastel (Franeker, Museum).
